Tabimi

Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 16, 2026

In one line: Tabimi collects no personal data. It has no accounts and no user-data backend. Everything you create — your map, the places you've visited, your photos' locations — is processed and stored on your device and is never uploaded. The only thing the app sends us is anonymous, coordinate-free usage statistics (section 7).

1The short version

2No user-data servers

There is no Tabimi account and no backend that receives your data. Everything you record works entirely on your device, offline. The only server we operate is a static content server that delivers the same generic files — share-card layouts and background artwork — to every user. It is download-only: requests to it contain no personal data, no identifiers, and no coordinates. As with any internet download, standard connection information (such as your IP address) is processed transiently to deliver the file; we do not use it to identify you and we build no user profiles. If the content server is unreachable, the app simply uses its built-in designs — no feature that records or stores your data depends on a network connection.

3Location

Tabimi uses your device's location to reveal the map as you move — this is the core feature of the app. It happens entirely on your device: your location is saved only to a local database on your iPhone and is never transmitted to us or anyone else. You control location access in iOS Settings and can turn it off at any time.

With your permission, Tabimi can keep filling in your map in the background, so your travels are captured without opening the app. This background location, too, stays entirely on your device.

4Photos

With your permission, Tabimi reads only the location and date stored in your photos' metadata, in order to reveal the places you've been. It never copies, uploads, or stores your photos, and it reads nothing else from your photo library. This all happens on-device.

5Your exploration data

The areas you've revealed, your tracks, and your statistics live in a database on your device only. We never see them. They are preserved through your normal device backups (see the Apple section below) and stay under your control. When you choose to share an image from the app, only that rendered picture leaves your device — and only via the share action you perform.

6No accounts, no login

Tabimi does not ask you to register, sign in, or provide any personal information. You open the app and use it.

7Anonymous usage statistics — and what they can never contain

To understand which parts of Tabimi work (for example, how many people finish the first-run guide, or how many share a card), the app sends us a small, fixed set of anonymous product events — simple facts like "onboarding completed" or "a share was completed", each with a timestamp and basic app/device info (app version, iOS major version, device class, language). They are grouped under a random installation identifier that the app invents itself: it is not your name, not your Apple ID, not a hardware or advertising ID, and it resets if you reinstall the app.

These events can never contain your location, coordinates, routes, revealed areas, photo data, feedback text, or anything you typed — the app's code only allows the fixed event list above, and our server rejects anything else. The statistics are not linked to your identity and are not used for tracking or advertising.

Beyond that: no advertising, no third-party trackers, no third-party analytics SDKs, and no cookies. Standard diagnostic messages are written only to your device's own system log (they contain no personal data and no coordinates) and are not collected by us. If you have questions about these statistics or want them stopped for your install, email us (section 15).

8Feedback you choose to send

The app has an optional feedback form. If — and only if — you tap send, we receive: your message, the app version, and your language setting; the delivery network also tells us a country code. That's all. Feedback never includes your location, your map, or any identifier, and we use it solely to improve the app.

9Sharing and selling

We do not share, sell, rent, or disclose your data. Apart from feedback you choose to send and the anonymous statistics in section 7, we never receive anything in the first place — and those statistics identify no one and are shared with no one.

10Children's privacy

Tabimi collects no personal data from anyone, including children.

11Keeping and deleting your data

Because all of your recorded data is on your device, you are in full control. Uninstalling Tabimi removes all of its data from your device. On our side there are only the anonymous statistics of section 7, which identify no one; reinstalling the app disconnects even those from your install.

12Your rights

Privacy laws such as the GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and China's PIPL give you rights over personal data that a company holds about you. Tabimi holds none: your recorded information lives solely on your device, and the anonymous statistics of section 7 cannot be linked back to you by us. If you have any concern, email us (section 15) and we will help where technically possible.

13Apple

The only outside party involved is Apple, which provides the operating system, the App Store, and — if you enable it — device and iCloud backups. If your iCloud Backup is on, your device's backup may include Tabimi's local data; that backup is created and encrypted by Apple and is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy, not by us.

14Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above always reflects the current version, and any material change will be shown here.
